One Rank One Pension to cost exchequer Rs 7,500 crore-10,000 crore
By PTI | 25 Mar, 2015, 09.04PM ISCHANDIGARH: Implementation of 'One Rank One Pension' scheme, the long-standing demand of Armed Forces veterans, is likely to cost the exchequer Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 10,000 crore, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh said today.
The government has already made it clear that One Rank One Pension (OROP) will be implemented with effect from April 1, 2014, the Minister of State for Defence told reporters here.
He said that the Defence Ministry had recently forwarded to the Finance Ministry the cost which the scheme's implementation would entail.
"It is likely to cost us somewhere between Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 10,000 crore," he said, adding that the previous UPA government had made a mere announcement with regard to OROP.
"During the past four to five months, we have gone deep into this. We have calculated the entire cost now," he said.

Mr. Rao, why are you weeping about expenditure publically ? Dont you know Soldiers are ready to give their lives to safeguard border area and as well as for internal security. Can you calculate these lives value ? Now if after retirement their pension was miscalculated by your ofiicers its your headache to correct them. Do not weep Publickally.
ReplyDeleteWhat. Is 7.5 to 10 crore compared. With coal scam spectrum 2 g scam. It's nil bata nil.

ReplyDeleteThese are 9 years, we are waiting for OROP. Now you are telling that you are busy for 5 months to calculate the amount.

Dear sir,
ReplyDeleteWhen krishna was external affair minister he rented room in five star hotel by paying rs 1 lac per day and tharoor rented rs 50000 per day. Modi coat costs more than 15 lacs and it was auctioned at the bid of 4 crores approximately. what tamasa is going on. when the matter of one rank one pension politicians are agreeing to pay reluctantly as if they are paying out of their charity fund and they think OROP is alms to be thrown at roadside beggars
We had done a blunder mistake that we are given maximum vote to BJP/NDA since May 2014 Mr Modi is alway out from India and is also planning to visit Foreign Countries from 09 Apr 2015 to 16 Apr 2015 hence we could not expect OROP and DA hike in Apr 2015 or before 10 May 2015 since from 20 Apr 2015 onwards Parliament session is going to start. I do not know when it will come(DA hike and OROP)
ReplyDeleteA contingent of Civilians from Min of Def and Min of Finance (Reps from CGDA and DESW Compulsory) should be sent for actual rescue operation in flood-affected area of J&K---- not as observers, but for actually working alongside men in uniform, to help them to understand what is OUTSIDE THE CALL OF NORMAL DUTY and QUICK ACTION, and also to sensitize them to the needs of Defence Services. May be OROP will be thro' very fast.
ReplyDeleteIt is very much disgraceful to note that whether it is OROP in recognition of our youthhood that we spent in the border leaving behind our lovely children, wife parents and kith kin or something we are regarded as beggars, the politicians they are paying from their pocket as charity or alms for beggars. the situations are disquieting, if it falls in the ears of soldier who is guarding our border if anything goes wrong what would be the condition of india
