DESPARATE SOLDIERS ARE ON THE WAR FOOT

Exclusive: Narendra Modi has betrayed the very trust of us soldiers: Army General on OROP

    1. Life is like that: For bureaucrats retirement is world's longest coffee break but for ExServiceMen it is extreme TENSION with lesser PENSION.

    2. Abraham Lincoln said, “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” This pertinently applies to the FM and the PM who are postponing the OROP for reasons known to them alone. If they want to cash votes in Bihar elections by timing the OROP to come out then, all the steam will be wasted. The public is fully with the ExServiceMen with empathy. If the government goes alone to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Victory celebrations stealing Lal Bahadur Shastri and his vociferous slogan "Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan" from Congress, they will be a laughing stock as the veterans were left out as unwanted. Mr Modi must know that leadership is solving problems. In our case he is an utter flop, so is the case with Kisans too.

    3. Shameless Government. Having no time to give importance to the voice of veterans. Keen to save Ms. Sushma, Vasundra and Pankaja Munde. Interested in the issues of Lalit Moldi and Ms. Hema Malini. So proud of incrfeasing pay and pensionary benefits to the MPs who have served for the nation for a long while.

    5. Very soon we are going to hear from our Political friends a new argument. Father of the Nation MAHATHMA GHANDHI was an ex service man and he has taken part in war in South Africa.,But he had not asked for ONE RANK ONE PENSION..

    7. The way we served the nation maintainng dicipline, guarding the sky & border risking precious life as a part of duty & sacrifice, ignoring personal & family comforts, being subjected to all kinds of professinal difficulties & expecting that the nation will serve us back during our old age with dignity & honour.Politicians governing the country appears to be promising a lot & damaging the sense of pride of the serving comfatants

    8. Manohar Parrikar has repeatedly said in the past that the government has completed all formalities and OROP will be implemented soon. When is that "soon? Making the OROP Scheme a reality?" None including the PM refuses to answer. Will these ministers accept such evasive answers when the Armed Forces are on battle field? But why they give a long rope to themselves? Nothing is more frustrating to a reader than a story that leaves an obvious question unanswered. Sometimes the writer and editor know the background so well that they forget to include all the basics. Sometimes a crucial fact can’t be learned on deadline; in that case, we should say so clearly, so readers don’t go back and forth through the story wondering how they missed it. This is where the unanswered OROP too is stagnated.

    9. The government/bureaucracy of the day is fighting the Indian Soldiers/ESM helping the enemies directly. What a paradox?

    10. Very unfortunately Govt is not understanding the severity of the issue, How our veterans are spending days. This Govt is making them from poorer to beggers.

    11. The 6CPC created a monster called Grade Pay and this caused disparity in the designation of civilians and Armed Forces Officers in the MoD. For further reading go to site,
