On this day of 26th may 2014 The Union Govt Headed by Shri .Narendra Modi  came to power by by making promises to common man,Farmers,& Soldiers of this great Nation which is proved to be false ,even  on this occasion of their  celebration of one year in office. The welfare of the above said category of the population is ignored by this Govt.Hence The ESM of this country observe   today,The 26 th may 2015 as  BLACK DAY in protest against the non-fulfillment of ONE RANK ONE PENSION  promise given to ESM of this country by the Prime minister

    1. In the last 60 years of hotheaded bureaucracy supported Indian Government, irrespective of party in power, considered the Defence Forces as a third rate arm of the society. More so, the ExServicemen were considered as a Non Performing Liability (totally different from the NPA concept) with contempt. In recent times, they were identified as a vote bank in certain pockets of the country and both UPA and the NDA tried and cashed it in winning the elections and the NDA succeeded. And now in the last one year, just because of elections in certain states where the veteran voter population is extensive, the OROP is kept alive by the NDA government for their selfish reasons with the help of the media which is spreading the rumours that the OROP Scheme is in its final stages of implementation. Time and again such rumours were being planted periodically in our media. We will never get our dues in near future. The deceptive story that was spun in the last 40 years will continue forever if our younger brothers in service fail to support us. The government is silent on the total non-performing assets of banks which increased to Rs 3,00,611 crore in Dec 2014, but is struggling to find mere 8300 crore for OROP Scheme and treat it as a complex problem. Irony which Mr Modi must explain after consulting the FM. Our serving and retired senior officers are mere pawns in the hands of the government for petty gains which is a total disservice to the ExServicemen and War widows. Will a new outfit with members from lower ranks of Armed Forces Veterans takeover the leadership of ExServicement and start a serious agitation with the support of serving soldiers?.

    3. As per my view ESM organisation should organise a March on 26 may 2015 to BJP headquarters with Black flags marks as 'BLACK DAY'

    5. Having come to power on the strength of mega-promises centred on the prospect of achhe din for all, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot but feel the weight of popular expectations on his government after an uneventful first year. The vast majority of those who backed him, those who gave the BJP he led a clear mandate in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, bought his words of hope in toto. Here definitely he failed the ExServicemen. Just look at the PSY Banks, Unions sign pact with IBA; hike effective Nov 2012; annual outgo for banks put at ₹4,725 cr. Salaries and allowances of bank employees will increase by 15 per cent after bank unions and industry body Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) on Monday signed a wage deal. The government bends for blackmailing tactics, but not to plain requests in a decent way.

    10. Dear All I too an ESM surviving with lots of uncertainty due to employment in private as well in govt sectors dries up. Promises are only made to break when someone achives the power of satta. Nothing seems to be more important then to retain the Kursi for prolonged period. No one bothers about the farmers suicide and to make our economy better for at least lower middle class people can at least survive with the increasing value of all products vegetables grains etc... there is no way we can come out. Moreover we are unable to give higher education to our children as we cannot afford the costs in colleges or any popular institution...so the story is same as ours the siblings will also be like us after 20 years due to quota politics ,money , reference etc. Pay commissions are only made for officers from that if any sympathetically thrown privilege comes to us we are bound to except it something comes we have to satisfy ourselves. Don't think of OROP nothing going to change don't waste you valuable time thinking , instead be happy and try to make your siblings rich by whichever means they can do the best.

    12. It is a very disgraceful way to black mail your own government and degrade your prime minister. Being a soldier you should have exhibited a little more patience and grace.

      2. What disgrace it is. When we are in financial constraint we ask for to grant our genuine expectation on OROP. Secondly the agitation for OROP is not yesterday or today issue.when MR Modiji wanted to come in ruling he took it in his head as primary issue and declared in meeting as the formost one to be resolved. Ok coming to angle, did he anywhere either in media or in parliament say anything in regard orop why there s delay and present position. When a citizen is expected to be transparent with regard to his income and assets and liabilities for taxation purpose, where the transparency gone on orop. Every time FM and RM give contradictory statement on the present position of OROP and PM is overwhelmed with timely reply of FM AND RM ON OROP and joy with their talency in managing the issue.Since you have adviced and unanimous column to be patient for some time definitely you should be Manama Gandhi or MIDIJI himself.

    13. Now OROP is only the vote bank of every government. Let all Ex-servicemen don't vote to modi or any other Chai bala in future..

    14. Yes true. It is a hollow government. Empty slogans and no action. It has come to power by fooling general public by their rhetoric and various "Jumlas" like 'Ache Din', 15 lacs amount in every body's bank account, Corruption free India and what not. But after one year nothing has materialised. In his first election speech at Jaipur NaMo had announced that he is going to implement OROP the movement he comes to power. Gen V.K. Singh was sitting beside him. NaMo has become PM and VK is a minister, their ache din have come on 26th May 2014 but Ex-servicemen are still waiting. I dont know still how long.

The actual complexity is in inventing the ways and means to reduce the estimated cost of the present 8300 crores. Initially it was around 16000 crores or so but brought down to 8300 crores.this is an irony which Mr Modi must explain to us for all this delay and dilution tactics after consulting the FM. These are burey din for Serving Soldiers, War Widows and the ExServicemen; but achche din for the NDA. It will only get worse... the time is up for those who wasted their lives for the nation in the name of our Sacred Mother Land. 26 May 2015 is really a BLACK Tuesday for all of us..

    21. OROP has a long history. It is an important part of the history of the nation,by now. Hence it is very essential that the general Public should be made aware of the Developments in this regard, particularly the facts about the way in which it has been handled by successive Govts and its impact on the morale of Defence Forces. I,therefore, feel that discussion on this issue should reach the general Public,to enable them to understand this part of History and also enable them to air their considered views. Is it possible to make this Blog--- as well as similar ones---- Public,so that what is written here & elsewhere automatically reaches a wider audience thro' Facebook, Twitter etc.?
