Reinstating government’s commitment on implementing the ‘One Rank,
One Pension’ policy, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said the
issue is pending as the method of calculating pension is stuck between
the Armed Services and the Defence Ministry.
“I have already in the last Budget said that we are going to implement ‘One Rank, One Pension’. This need not be stated on every occasion. We are completely committed to it,” Jaitley told reporters here when asked about the delay in launching the scheme.
Explaining the reasons behind the delay, the Minister said: “The methodology of calculating the One Rank, One Pension is an issue pending between the Services and the Defence Ministry.” As and when that idea is formulated, not only it should be implemented, it will be implemented, he added.
“You may only notice that I have today, despite the squeeze, increased the allocation for Defence by almost Rs 25,000 crore,” Jaitley said.
Last month, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that ‘One rank, One pension’ scheme will be rolled out soon.
The scheme, which seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel who retire at the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement, has been a long-standing demand of the over two million ex-servicemen in the country.

I understand that as per Mr. Jaitly, MOD is not part of Modi Government and functions autonomously. It means government of India has no control over MOD and it can bulldoze all commitments of elected government of India. Don't fool veterans Mr. Jaitley. Your and your government intentions are naked open. You can't fools us any more.... thanks for your commitment....
ReplyDeleteHope PM, RM and FM can wake up the Babus of MOD and get OROP passed... it is easier handling opposition in parliment than getting these Babus to work... all lazy and good for nothing...er sorry after Sastry Bhavan incident... Night working Guys
ReplyDeleteSir, now what is the problem and where it is? Before some days there was a chart(mentioned that approved by three service head quarters) I think it was a "ULLU BANANE WALA BAATH THA". In between the services there also have some, following the beauracrats for own benifit.we have to pray to god for bless them.
ReplyDelete"What an idea sir ji" sone walon ke jagake bola"khana nahin he
ReplyDeleteSir'
ReplyDeleteThis unending delay for prop implementation is the crafted work of certain officials with vested interests
Every thing seems to be back at square one again. It also is possible that the meeting of Mr. Vijay with RM just before the budger day and then statements to media about consideration of OROP was a pre-planned move. Anyway thanks MOD and their bosses for once again sticking to their old plan of ditching exservicemen after so many assurances. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteDear Politicians and Bureaucrats
ReplyDeleteIf you could not do anything to Ex Serviceman then please do not make such type of false statement through various Media as our Ex Serviceman known your attitudes and behaviour, they will really hate you in near future. I assure that within 10 to 15 years All politicians will beg like some for voter as new generation is not interested for vote . Bureaucrat/IAS Lobby will screwed by public within 15 to 20 years due to their sadistic work as new generation is very well educated and understood their work
Will not the FM implement any rise in the emoluments of his colleagues without a second thought? Let not be anymore delay in giving the due to the Veterans.
ReplyDeleteUlloo Banao Ulloo Banao yes sir it true because in the MOD Babus and our RM is not able to short out the modalities till. Our Honourable RM is not able to handle these babus who are just behaving like enemy. God will look after this. Jai Hind
ReplyDeletePlease do not make fools to poor Ex Service as we understood that OROP is not going to implement in near future..
ReplyDeleteNEXT CANVAS PUNJAB ELECTION,SABAK FOR BJP
DeleteThe Military sold itself and its soul in 1976 in accepting degradation of pension from 75 percent to 50 percent and lost morale can not be retrieved by denials and ignoring the current non implementations. The far reaching adverse affects of current denials and nonimplementation will harm the Military to a point of no return. We just have to imagine and compare the affect on morale of the civilian staff if their pension is so reduced. Let their be justice and the Apex Court should intervene sua moto. There is utter lack of respect for the Apex Court and it is time the gloves are taken off.
ReplyDeleteFurther that a soldier who fought for all of us in 62, 65 and 71 wars and in his sunset years may get an increase of 3000 if OROP is implemented . If not as the old age is short, he will die of nothing or having nothing or for nothing. But we all will remember his contributions to the Nation. Love your armed forces and love your soldiers, that's all that he expects.
DeleteWe must understand govt Jo dena nahi chahti koi le nahi Sakta isliye ab orop magna
ReplyDeleteband kar Dena chahiye
Sir, don't blame the Bureaucrats but have faith in our Leaders. It may take time to implement as there are lot of impediments to be resolved so it is better to focus on the pending issues I may tell you that last lines of Mr Jaitley said in his press conference, which his not been mentioned above and that is OROP " SHALL BE (not) BUT WILL BE IMPLEMENTED " once it is cleared... Dear, these mod babus are taking sound sleep at their homes because of us and our brothers on doing our duty and service at border. they are not all realizing the cause of delay . They are simply playing with sentiment of ex servicemen .Now this is time we all will have to re think seriously. There are three RMs country has recieved since the last year from time of declaration of orop. All these RMs are not able to handle these great babus. We pray god to give some motivation to our PM/RM/FM to settle the issue at earliest..........Jai Hind
ReplyDeleteit is clear that we are not going to get OROP in near future as the BABUS are not under government control.
ReplyDeleteNow it is true that Leaders may commit any thing for their votes but when actual time comes for test they always fail. Now a great confidence between veterans and this government also broken like earlier government. They use to talk only ambiguous but actual thing they don't have strong will power. But government should not forget again time will come.
ReplyDeleteI had earlier commented some two months back that OROP is on ventilator. The attending doctors are from MOD and MOF.Their intention is to kill the patient named OROP.Every time they console the veterans
ReplyDeleteThey treat our brother esm as fools.
.
God bless our dm.fm.pm.for tarikh par tarikh.for orop. Wait tllill 2019.
ReplyDeleteGovt is trying to make ex servicemen FOOLS where there is a will there is a way. if govt is really interested to implement OROP. . govt can easily find the solution/modalities for implementation. This Govt also want to show some lame excuses. To drop the issue. Since there are no elections in near future.
ReplyDeleteAb hamen modi sarkar ka karyakal pura hone tak intezar karna padega aur uske baad Delhi ke chunav ki tarah jawab dena hoga. Iske liye hum sabko ek hona padega kyonki ek karod vote kum nahin hote. Achchhe achchhe neta aakar paani bharenge.
ReplyDeleteBilkul sahi path hai.sabi esm yehi soch mein hai.
DeleteAB OROP SIRF AAP 64 TEH SAKTHAA HAI. BJP&CONGRESS DHONO NE MILKE ACHCHA DRAMA THIKKAATHIYAA
ReplyDeletePoliticians from all the parties and our so called BABUs know very well to make defence veterans fool. Its their old game. Now time has come to wake up.
ReplyDeleteChunao aane par hi inko kiye gaye wade yad aate hai. Achhe din kaha gaye?
