    OROP Issue:Ex-Serviceman Meet Jaitley
A group of ex-servicemen today met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to convey to him their concern over the much-delayed 'One Rank One Pension' scheme which is expected to benefit about 22 lakh retired defence personnel.
"The talks were positive and he listened to our concern. He said he will continue the deliberation on the issue," Maj Gen Satbir Singh (Retd) said after the meeting.
Singh told reporters that the planned rally on June 14 followed by a hunger strike the next day will continue.

    1. Hand over the medals to PM so that he recast and make use for yoga. Now for Myanmar operation many countries are almost thumping up for war. Are you ready without jawans.

    2. Let the government from now onwards realise that they have been betting on a dark horse (the babudom) and not the ever winners the Armed Forces. Every action since independence was a win win game for the government due the BEST Armed Forces of the world which is disciplined secular and apolitical. Discipline must not be taken as a sign of weakness and the government must realise the eternal bond between the serving soldiers and the ESM. Jai Jawan! Jai Ho!

    3. Dear Veterans,
The days of negotiations are over after we heard the PM bringing the whole concept of OROP back to square one. Once we have declared our plan to agitate , we should close the door for negotiations because if we maintain that definition of OROP is non negotiable what is there to discuss? We should now focus on our struggle wholeheartedly. The aim should be nothing less than forcing the Govt to immediately issue implementation instructions without diluting the definition of OROP. The payment of arrears can be made in four instalments and JCOs/OR should be paid first.Officers' arrears can start from next quarter. However, payment of revised pensions should start within a period of two months.

    4. VETERANS, MY friend, have to choose between being forgotten, mocked or used. As for being understood: never.” Albert Camus’ words are ringing true in case of Indian Armed Forces Veterans.

    5. Ahmedabad, Feb 17 (PTI) : On ‘one rank-one pension’ for armed forces, Modi tweeted “I welcome the decision on ‘One Rank, One Pension’ for our servicemen. Belated wisdom finally dawns on our ‘hard working’ UPA ministers”. This was in early 2014. What does his current wisdom addresses him and the NDA's hardwork.

    6. repeated meeting with finance minister after declaration's on Maha Sangram Rally on 14 jun 2015, shows that Mr. Arun jetley is repeatedly bluffing the ex servicemen on orop issue. Ex servicemen organisation must chalk out agitation program at every district headquarter's for each state.

    7. This article in "Swarajya" speaks the IES mind truthfully. Shri Jay Bhattacharjee
(Jay Bhattacharjee is a policy and corporate affairs analyst based in Delhi) under the head "Raisina Hill Still Short-Changing India’s Soldiers", brings out our anguish as to "Why One Rank-One Pension is a non-negotiable right of our soldiers, and why any delay in its implementation is unacceptable."
