    5. The OM does not mention counting increments in V CPC pay-scale for someone who retired before 01 Jan 96. The OM mentions calculation of equivalent V CPC pay based on formula specified by V CPC.

Similarly, for someone who retired after 31 Dec 1995 but before 01 Jan 2006, the last V CPC pay drawn has to be converted to VI CPC notional pay by using the formula specified in recommendations of VI CPC and not by counting the number of V CPC increments.

Then the equivalent pay of VI CPC plus the VI CPC grade pay has to be converted to notional VII CPC pay by using the VII CPC IOR. This pay is to be placed in the appropriate level of the matrix and the nearest highest pay in the level is to be taken as the notional VII CPC pay.

At least that's what a reading of the OM suggests. The rest will be revealed in pension slips.

    8. Dear Sri Chandran,Will be grateful for a clarification. I am Wg Cdr (Selection grade) retd on 6th sept 1986.I have Qualifying Service of 23 yrs. what should be my correct present OROP? What should be my correct basic Pension as on 1/1/2016 as per 7cpc,after taking into account the upgradation of this Rank to Level 12A? Does it take into account DL33 dispensation? regards

    9. Dear Sir,
Your OROP Basic is 32428 & 7th CPC Basic before modification is 83340(this figures are excluding DA)

    10. Your contention that increments are to be added is wrong. The notional Pay of 7CPPC must be arrived with the following formula:
      Notional 7 CPPC Basic = [(OROP - Rank Pay) x 2.57] x 2.
Find the nearest in the Matrix and add New Rank Pay, half of that will be the new pension.
