The implementation of the one rank, one pension (OROP)
for ex-Servicemen continues to be a source of discontent for the
veterans’ community as their key objections remain unaddressed.
The
one-man judicial commission of Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, former Chief
Justice of the Patna High Court constituted in December last year to
look into issues arising out of the implementation of the OROP, is
scheduled to hold public hearings. Ex-servicemen’s groups said their
representations to the Defence Ministry not have been forwarded to the
commission and alleged “betrayal” by the government.
Maj.
Gen. Satbir Singh (retd), Chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen
Movement, wrote to Mr. Parrikar and Mr. Reddy on August 3, conveying
“anguish and concern” for this attitude of “neglect of defence
personnel” by the government.
“Defence Ministry has
not forwarded our representation to the one-man Committee in spite of
the assurances given by Mr. Parrikar on March 14, 2016 during a meeting
of representatives of ex-servicemen,” Maj. Gen. Singh told The Hindu.
“The mandate given to One-Man Committee is to consider those
questions/issues which have been referred to it by the Defence Ministry.
This is a serious breach of trust reposed in the system,” Maj. Gen.
Singh noted in the letter.
Adding to the concerns,
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had, in response to a question why the
definition has been changed, recently said in Parliament that there was
no “standardised definition” of OROP. “OROP has been a long-standing
demand as far as defence forces are concerned. OROP did not have a
standardised definition as such there were different interpretations
given,” Mr. Jaitley said.
Just imagine coming 31August when Babus would go about joyfully with jingling pockets stuffed with newv pay packets, while our jawans will twiddle their thumbs and grind their teeth. Let this be known that this insult will not pass on without repercussions. I am 74 and have some idea of history.

Very sad.
ReplyDeleteSame thing these leaders were doing in 1962 when they were demoralising our defence forces and we lost the war against China very badly. Now they should wake up and don't treat defence forces like this.People of India should also take note of this and advise the present leadership lest anything happen unpleasant.
ReplyDeleteI NEVER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM ANY BABU' S.When our supreme commander is not bothered about our ARMED FORCES?Can anyone question ?

Centre extends OROP panel hearing for SIX Months,
ReplyDeleteA Good News for All exservicemen.
Lo, listen ye Ex Men present that the GOI, the most benevolent and Merciful towards all of you, the useless trash and decaying garbage that you are, have extended the execution of euthanasia for six months.
During the period, slow poisoning by not applying DL 33, non implementaion of 7 CPC recommendations to ex-mils denying arrears will be effectively implemened .
Those who survive these treatment will undergo further palliative procedure vide special OM by which the OROP commission will submit its report in 2026 simultaneously with recommendatios of 8 CPC.. Viva MOD
As to our Supreme Commander he is neither supreme nor a commander. Let this old Cogressman enjoy Ghodagadi rides and boom boom gun salutes. jesse kochar.
ReplyDeleteI consider One Man Judicial Commission is a well planned drama is really originated by Ministry of Defence especially by our worst inefficient department is known as Department of Ex Servicemen Welfare in original but in practical the said Department is acting as Department of Eternal Stone Walling and their main intention is to harass entire Ex Serviceman and their families especially Below Officer Ranks as Officers are getting huge pension and Payment for Serving Officers but Below Officer Ranks are living with very limited salary and pull on both side in very difficult manner in a daily basis cum monthly basis . I also hope that OROP tables are very well prepared after issuance of extension of OMJC so they want to delay or further delay the actual OROP. De Linking 33 years case is too delayed and there is no surety on when it will implement in true spirit or not
ReplyDeleteWhat a pitty. Our Veterans r dealt like slaves through out. MPs salary is hiked as and when they wish. But the fighting force will have to wait for the mercy from the so called Baboons.
