    1. Congratulations sirs. We should have done this long back. Anyway still time is there. Right decision made.

    2. The very definition of ESM is at fault. Are the soldiers who took voluntary retirement not eligible to OROP. The IESM never discussed this before in these forum. Major General Satbir Singh should keep these soldiers too included.

    3. Why no discussion on OROP award by the government in these columns?

    4. HEALING BALM FROM THE PM
Announcement of OROP, instead of being an occasion of elation and joy, became a source of disappointment, confusion and dejection for many veterans. To the 45% of the ex servicemen who were excluded from the ambit of OROP because of the last minute rider of VRS, later amended as PMR(pre-mature retirement) the inspiring speech of the PM, today, came as the soothing balm for their pain and pangs. The Hon. PM unequivocally stated that premature retiree ex-servicemen will also come under OROP,
On behalf of the entire PMRs, I Salute the PM for his announcement.
VRS or PMR never was an issue in the discussions on OROP. We do not know which devious and deceptive bureaucratic brain brought this monster brain child in the final announcement. PM, obviously, saw thorough this deception and made the present timely intervention and what an announcement was it!!!! How emotional and chest swelling it was!!
If the Hon. PM had intervened a little earlier much of the alienation, mistrust and estrangement could, surely. have been averted.
There are some minor contentious issues exist unresolved but as we have come this far there is hope that they would be settled sooner or later. Thanks to ESM for calling off the “Fast unto Death”.
DEAR PRIMNISTER SIR< A BIG THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE HEART
