ask the Govt to implement OROP immediately.
The letter will be repeated after five days. In the event of no action by the serving

The highlight of these visits was that 1st NDA Course officers in their eighties came and blessed the Relay Hunger Strike for the cause.
- ESM, our family members and our supporters are requested to daily visit Jantar Mantar in large number to encourage and support the cause.
- All ESM are requested to execute this phase of the Agitation in letter and spirit and create Visibility in the nook and corner of the country, turning the Lehar-Toofan Phase of the Agitation into Tsunami.
- We the ESM, our members of the family and our supporters resolved to continue our struggle with greater intensity till such time the Govt implements OROP as per the approved definition without any dilution.
- Memorandum to the Hon’ble Prime Minister will be presented at 1 PM on 26 Jul 2015 by delegation of United Front of Ex-servicemen.
- Our fight is against the injustice and betrayal of faith and not against the Govt. We appeal to our Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi to honour his assurances given to the Defence Personnel and order immediate implementation of OROP as per the approved definition without any dilution whatsoever.

As long as Mr. Jaitly is Finance Minister OROP may not be implemented; because he is smarting from the electoral defeat by an ESM.He cannot do anything to Capt.Amrinder singh so he is taking it out on the veterans.
ReplyDeleteIt is time PM has intervened.
WE, the vetrans , are around 25 lakh in numbers, if family members /friends are added that wd come to more thane one crore in numbers and they start wearing a black badge written with a word OROP when ever or where ever they move out to highlight the issue of OROP to the whole society.
ReplyDeleteFortunately for about 20 lakh Veterans of the Armed Forces, the One Rank One Pension issue is in the National limelight. Perhaps this was one of the rare issues where most of the media and the public unanimously supported the Veterans. The Veterans have been struggling in their lives and the agitation continues from the far corners of the Nation. While agitating on the OROP issue the Veterans leading the struggle showed incalculable patience and discipline never hurting the public and their property. The gobernment thinks that this as a weakness of the ESM. The government failed to understand the reality that the OROP is a serious issue for the senior Veterans who are in their 70s and 80s, war widows, and the disabled soldiers/airmen/sailors who gave their youth/lives for the Nation. The sacrifices of many of them kept "India as India." As of now the patience of the ESM are wearing thin, some of the ESM are planning to go onto indefinite hunger strike. Any untoward resuly will result in a tsunami and may result in unpalatable events for the government. Why this government cannot keep its words? Is there no law to safeguard the Veteran's interests? Are the ESM second rate citizens? Lastly, is not the COAS and other two Chiefs not interested in Veteran's welfare? Why they are mute? With what moral standing they are Commanding the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy of the Armed Forces, the pride of our Mother Land. The ESM pity these Generals/Air Marshals/Admirals for not exibiting the second part of Chetwodian Motto "The honour, welfare and comfort of the men you command come next." We the ESM are showing restraint, for we believe the first part of this sacred motto with honour, "The safety, honour and welfare of your country come first, always and every time." But these three Chiefs are interested only in their own ease, comfort and safety, totally forgetting the final line. Atleast now, they should exibit 'Officer Like Quality' and come to the aid of the ESM and those serving under them. The serving Jawans knowthat the Nation will not be with them once they retire and will be counted as the second rate citizen.
ReplyDeleteHai veterans, its really ungrateful on the part of bjp government, they don't have sympathy towards the veterans and veer naaris, I sincerely request the people who are managing and looking after jantar mantar camp to invite foreign media both print and electronic, so that the world knows how government of India treats its defence vetetans

ReplyDeleteNever in the history of free India, a protest for honour an organisation was so disciplined and sincere. For this the ESM, the veterans of the Armed Forces must be commended who are protesting for their due against the government. At no time inconvenience to the public by way of riots and damages to public property happened. The visibly of this OROP protest is not as desired as the media was interested in projecting mega scams that occurred during the last two months in the ruling party. Others who are in the habit of revolting on the government's apathy towards even trivial things must learn a lot from the ExServiceMen who exhibited patience which is not in their blood while in action. Well done, ESM; carry on till the victory is achieved. Bash on regardless. Jai Hind.
ReplyDeleteMost of the action points suggested are already being implemented at all levels but they have had no effect what so ever on the SARKAR. Therefore we need to give a JOLT and wake them up. Give a big punch like blockade , gherao. march to parliament, protest out side PM, DM, and FM residence. We need to learn from Gujjar Fauji of Rajasthan how to get what is your right. Passive steps are no use
ReplyDeleteAt Muzzaffarpur rally, on 25 July 2015 Mr Modi said, "if you were unhappy, you could have slapped me, but you throttled Bihar because of your problems with one man. 18 moths back in another election rally he promised OROP for the ESM, but never kept his words. We never thought of slapping him and waiting for his decision patiently. Will he answer at least now.
