    UPDATE OF OROP CASE HEARD IN SUPREME COURT ON 20/01/2022

     OROP case was listed at no1 position today 20 Jan 22 in court no4 of Justice Dr DY Chandrachud bench. Court was to sit from 1030 to 1300h only. 

    ASG Mr N Venkataraman appeared from GOI. 

    OROP was represented by 

    Hujefa Ahmadi senior lawyer 

    Balaji Srinivasan AOR

    Arunava Mukherjee 

    OROP issue came up at 1100h. ASG Mr N Venkataraman stated he will need full day to present his arguments. Our lawyer Mr Hujefa Ahmadi also confirmed that he will need 2 to 3 hrs to make his presentation. 

    Honourable justice Chandrachud advised that the arguments cannot be concluded today and he gave a next date 2 Feb 22 Wednesday for hearing the OROP issue. Case will be listed at no 1 on next hearing date on 2 Feb 22.

      full day plus 2-3 hours would require two consecuitive days for the hearing.unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future due to caseload at the SC.

      The story for Past 2 yrs :-Today on 10 Feb 2020, OROP case came up for hearing in court number 8 of Justice Dr Chandrachudand justice Indu at s no 49. Our turn came at 1240.
      Honourable justice expressed that this case is serious and affects our gallant soldiers and their morale and he would like to hear it in detail. Our lawyers pressed that we would need just 30 min to conclude our final arguments. Govt lawyer requested for time. Honourable justice expressed that he would like to hear this case for final disposal. Our lawyer requested for early date but Govt lawyer

      resisted and requested for time. Honourable justice fixed 24 Mar for hearing and final disposal of OROP case.
      Our lawyers further requested for case to be listed as priority and be listed at early serial number. This request was accepted by Honourable Justice.
      Next date for final disposal of OROP petition is 24 Mar 2020.
      Large number of exservicemen came to Supreme Court to show their solidarity. TARIQ PE TARIQ
